What We Fund

The Glencoe School Foundation pays the salary of our full-time Librarian, Emma Pletz, allowing more of the school's district funds to be used for classroom teachers. The Foundation also funds a part-time Technology Support Specialist -- the school's only tech support person -- to help maintain teachers' computers and the student computer lab.

To provide important enrichment activities for Glencoe students, the Foundation pays teachers to lead Afterschool Sports, including Jump Rope Club, which meet seasonally; Fifth Grade Band, which meets twice a week throughout the year; and Homework Club, which meets once a week throughout the year.

In addition to the student-focused services above, the Glencoe School Foundation strives to support parents and to thank our generous community by sponsoring Community Conversations, a dynamic series of workshops and presentations focused on issues of interest and concern to parents of elementary age children. We host three Community Conversations during each school year. Childcare is paid for by GSF.

The Foundation also contributes a small amount to assist with maintenance of the school athletic field in collaboration with Portland Parks and Recreation and the Mt. Tabor Soccer Club.
